2 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> VOLUNTEER WEEK <br /> April 19-25, 2026 <br /> WHEREAS, National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognize and honor the impact of <br /> volunteer service and come together to tackle community needs and foster a culture of civic <br /> engagement; and <br /> WHEREAS, experience teaches us that government by itself cannot solve all our nation's <br /> problems; and <br /> WHEREAS, volunteering one's time, talents, and resources has been an integral part of our <br /> heritage since the early days of our nation; and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County has a strong history of improving lives, strengthening communities, <br /> and making our county a better place through volunteerism; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is essential that we continue this tradition of giving and sharing to preserve and <br /> improve the quality of life for all members of our community; and <br /> WHEREAS, volunteer service is needed more than ever as communities work to support and <br /> uphold their ideals on a local level; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners encourages all community members <br /> to celebrate Volunteer Week by promoting volunteerism in our families and communities and <br /> being all in for Orange County; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, we, the Orange County Board of Commissioners, do hereby proclaim April <br /> 19-25, 2026, as "Volunteer Week" in Orange County. <br /> This the 7th day of April, 2026. <br /> Jean Hamilton, Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Laura Jensen <br /> Clerk to the Board of Commissioners <br />
