There is a lack of transparency regarding <br /> how these taxpayer funds are spent. <br /> • Private schools that accept vouchers are permitted to discriminate in admissions <br /> based on gender, sexual orientation, and religion. They are not required to provide <br /> services for students with disabilities. <br /> • Vouchers can exacerbate inequality and can contribute to the "racial sorting" of <br /> students, as 64% of voucher recipients in 2023-24 were white. <br />
