This request was not presented to Durham County Board of Commissioners for its <br /> consideration. <br /> GoTriangle Route 800 provides all-day/every-day regional connections along NC-54 and 1-40 <br /> between the University of Chapel Hill (UNC) Hospitals and the Regional Transit Center and serves <br /> people traveling between Chapel Hill, Southpoint, Research Training Park (RTP), and Raleigh at <br /> off-peak times. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The amendment impact for FY26 is $123,370 on the approved FY26 <br /> Orange County Annual Work Program. <br /> 3. Chapel Hill Transit: Amendment to Existing Protect Name & Scope <br /> Chapel Hill Transit(CHT) is requesting two (2)amendments to support the North-South Bus Rapid <br /> Transit (NSBRT) project, and the twenty percent (20%) nonfederal match, anticipated when the <br /> request was made. <br /> CHT received a 60% design cost estimate for the NSBRT this past summer. This updated estimate is <br /> more than $10 million higher than prior estimates and includes $20 million for property acquisition, <br /> according to CHT staff. The proposed amendment would clarify that those <br /> vehicles would be dedicated to the NSBRT project when construction is completed. The 60-foot <br /> diesel vehicles will be uniquely branded and custom fabricated to serve NSBRT's elevated <br /> station platforms, communicate with systems unique to BRT, and provide enhanced BRT <br /> amenities.
