DISBURSEMENT OF TAXES INCLUDED IN SELLING PRICE[eont'd] <br /> The excise tax is computed in accordance with NC G.S. 18B-805(i). <br /> The accrued North Carolina excise tax at June 30, 2023, was remitted to the North Carolina Department of <br /> Revenue on July 3,2023. <br /> A bottle charge of one cent($.01)on each bottle containing fifty(50)milliliters or less and five cents($.05)on <br /> each bottle containing more than fifty (50) milliliters is collected and distributed monthly to the Orange <br /> County commissioners for alcohol education or rehabilitation. SURCHARGE COLLECTED <br /> The total amount of surcharge collected for the years ended June 30, 2023 and 2022, was $162,521 and <br /> $164,881,respectively.The bailment surcharge rate is$2.75 per case. <br /> 8. LIQUOR SALES TAX <br /> The total amount of sales tax collected by the ABC Board and remitted to the NC Department of Revenue for <br /> the years ended June 30,2023 and 2022, was $1,824,060 and $1,781,274,respectively.
