Mr. Green made a motion to approve the August Consent Agenda; Ms. <br /> Sykes seconded the motion and the vote carried. <br /> I <br /> Management Updates: <br /> • Law Enforcement: This report is required by the NCABC. <br /> • Old Nick Williams Distillery Tour: 25 employees went to Old Nick Williams Distillery <br /> in Whrston Salem on September IS"'and 19e1. The group picked some Rum Barrels and <br /> the bottles are available in our stores now. <br /> i <br /> • Board Member Compensation:A proposal has been sent to the BOCC for consideration. ! <br /> The agenda item is tentatively scheduled for 11-7-24 depending upon the October 28"' j <br /> meeting. <br /> I <br /> • Tequila Distillery Trip:The GM traveled to Guadalajara Mexico the first week in October <br /> with the GM from Durham and reps from RNDC (plus security) for visits to Herradura, <br /> Partida and Corralejo. The purpose of this trip was to pick out single barrel tequilas at the <br /> distilleries and learn more about the tequila process and brands. The barrels should arrive <br /> spring 2025 in time for Cinco de Mayo. <br /> • Property Discussion: A closed session was held for a property discussion. <br /> Policy Change(OPEB): <br /> • OPEB Policy: The Board's"Other-Post-Employment Benefits"policy for employees <br /> hired after March 8,2008 allows for the reimbursement of a portion of premiums for <br /> health care policies attained by employees who retire with at least 20 years of service and <br /> are at least 55 years of age. The reimbursement policy ends when the retiree reaches age <br /> 65 and transitions to Medicare. <br /> The staff recommended and the Board approved modifying the existing policy by ' <br /> eliminating the current"sliding"scale of reimbursements for health care premiums and <br /> replacing it with a single reimbursement threshold($40,000 maximum/$4,000 per year) <br /> to paid once annually in June or December, i <br /> The staff also recommended and the Board approved ending the March 8,2008 policy for <br /> employees hired after October 31,2024. The policy termination date does not affect <br /> current full-time employees, <br /> i <br /> i <br />
