24 <br /> Evaluation <br /> Key to the success of this heat action plan is a regular assessment of <br /> relevant data and metrics to understand how programs and activities <br /> are performing and to identify opportunities for improvement.The Heat <br /> Cohort will collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of the <br /> Heat Action Plan for Orange County.This evaluation will include the <br /> following activities: � <br /> 1. Using Health Data Before,During and After the Heat Season 4 <br /> The Heat Cohort will work with local and state partners to access, , <br /> analyze and interpret heat-related illness data.The Heat Cohort will <br /> meet prior to the heat season to review the Heat Action Plan and ° <br /> make an updates or changes as needed.The will also meet after �a cif <br /> Y p 9 Y <br /> each extreme heat event to analyze the Plan for opportunities for 4 <br /> improvement if needed.The data from these meetings can help local r <br /> leaders understand the health effects of extreme heat in Orange County <br /> and inform revision of the Heat Action Plan for Orange County,as <br /> needed. <br /> 2. Evaluate Interventions <br /> At the end of the heat season,during September and October,The Heat <br /> Cohort will collect and aggregate the metrics data outlined in the Heat <br /> Action Plan.They will analyze this data by making comparisons with <br /> previous years'data and use these comparisons to make adjustments to <br /> action item goals and targets. <br /> They will publish the results of these evaluations as a written report, <br /> available online,so that they are accessible to the wider community. <br /> 22 <br />
