BACKGROUND: After nearly three decades of dedicated public service, Nancy Freeman will retire on April 1, 2026. Nancy Freeman began her service with Orange County in 1997 and was appointed Tax Administrator in 2019. During her tenure, Ms. Freeman demonstrated leadership in improving tax collection efficiency, strengthening customer service initiatives, and fostering a professional and supportive work environment within the Tax Department. The Board of County Commissioners expresses its appreciation to Ms. Freeman for her dedication and service to Orange County residents, Orange County government, and the Board of County Commissioners. FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with consideration of this recognition. RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board authorize the Chair to sign the attached letter recognizing and expressing appreciation to Nancy Freeman for her service to the people of Orange County.
