How will you <br />measure the success <br />of that engagement <br />or educational effort? <br />(200 word limit) <br />Staff will follow-up with all residents who receive energy audits through the <br />program. As a prerequisite for receiving the audit, residents must agree to <br />provide the Town with twelve months of energy bills after the audit so staff <br />can analyze the impact that of any energy efficiency measures resulting <br />from the audit. <br />In addition, The Town tracks the number of participants in each of its <br />engagement events. In addition, for the past three years, Planning <br />Department staff have worked to develop demographic survey boards <br />which are utilized at outreach events. The survey boards allow participants <br />the opportunity to voluntarily place stickers to indicate their demographic <br />information. This allows the Town to collect data and analyze who is and <br />who is not attending our events. Staff intend to continue use of these <br />boards at outreach events in the future where energy efficiency education <br />will be provided. <br />D38. Is there <br />anything else you <br />would like to add <br />about the benefits of <br />your project, how <br />much community <br />engagement and/or <br />education it will <br />create, or how long it <br />will last? (150 word <br />limit) <br />Central Carolina Community College’s Building Construction Technology <br />program will have students shadowing energy auditors and energy <br />efficiency contractors. This energy efficiency program will work <br />cooperatively with CCCC’s work-based learning program for the completion <br />of the AAS degree in Building Construction Technology. <br />Criterion 7 - Time to Complete This criterion has a maximum score of 3 <br />points (out of a total of 26 points). <br />D39. How long will it <br />take your project to <br />complete and <br />demonstrate the <br />positive impacts you <br />describe? (200 word <br />limit) <br />The Town has the capacity to begin working on the project quickly if <br />funded. Purchasing energy audit kit equipment will take approximately two <br />weeks. Recruiting the resident cohort will take approximately two months. <br />Afterwards, the cohort members will undergo up to 10 hours of training with <br />Town staff and then work in the community for six to eight months. During <br />these six to eight months, the energy audits will be completed as well. In <br />total, most project work will be completed within ten months of program <br />launch. Staff will follow-up with those who receive energy audits to collect <br />twelve months of energy bills in order to assess impacts of any energy <br />efficiency upgrades completed after the audits. <br />Section 5.
