(150 word <br />limit) <br />These funds will complement funds from upcoming programs such as the <br />HOMES/HEAR (EnergySaver NC) program, which offers energy efficiency <br />rebates, and will begin in Orange County this January. In early 2026, the <br />new Electrify the Triangle Program will launch to help local community <br />members take advantage of federal incentive funding and bulk pricing for <br />things like energy efficiency, solar, electric appliances, electric lawn <br />equipment, micromobility, and EV charging. <br />Criterion 4 - Capacity of Applicant This criterion has a maximum score of 3 <br />pts (out of a total of 26 pts). <br />D23. Has your <br />organization <br />completed projects of <br />this type in the past? <br />Yes <br />If so, what funds <br />were used? (100 <br />word limit) <br />Carrboro and Chapel Hill received American Recovery and Reinvestment <br />Act funds to pursue community scale improvements in building energy <br />efficiency in 2010. Carrboro received an initial allocation of $75,000, and <br />chose to focus on initiating an Energy Efficiency Revolving Loan Fund <br />(EERLF) for small businesses. Carrboro received three additional <br />allocations totaling $236,000, and used these subsequent allocations to <br />pursue: 1) single and multifamily residential initiatives focusing on “deep” <br />(at least 15% improvement in energy efficiency) residential retrofits; 2) a <br />residential outreach and education program, with support from Clean <br />Energy Durham; and 3) additional commercial projects using the EERLF <br />program. <br />D24. (150 <br />word limit) <br />The 2010 Carrboro W ise Investments Save Energy (W ISE) program <br />targeted small commercial buildings through a revolving loan fund. Carrboro <br />also created a single family and multifamily residential pilot program which <br />offered incentives for projects that met an estimated 15% energy savings. <br />The program also included contractor management and training utilizing <br />Home Performance with Energy Star standards. The W ISE program was <br />successful in driving energy efficiency projects for 113 single family and <br />multifamily units and providing 5 small commercial loans for projects in 3 <br />separate commercial buildings. The projects are estimated to have resulted <br />in an average of 21% or more in energy savings per project and almost <br />$40,000 in total energy bill savings.  <br />Docusign Envelope ID: B7F69C66-F314-4506-B393-F26F9CEC96B0
