D35a. How many
people will benefit
from your project in
one year? (This is
the same number
from row 8 in the
D16 table above)
1350
D35b. Please
describe how you
arrived at this
number. (200 word
limit)
W e estimate approximately 1,350 unique individuals will benefit from this
project in the first year, based on participation in tree planting, seedling
distribution, and educational workshops, adjusted to avoid double-counting.
Tree Planting (100 trees):
Each tree is planted at a residential or community site. Using the U.S.
Census Bureau’s average household size of 2.42, this reaches about 242
people directly. Including immediate neighbors who benefit from shade,
cooling, and flood mitigation increases this to ~500 people.
Seedling Distribution (1,000 seedlings):
Assuming 2 seedlings per household, 500 households × 2.42 people per
household = 1,210 people.
W orkshops & Community Events (2 total):
W e expect about 20 participants per event, for a total of 40 attendees.
Some overlap with other groups is expected, so we conservatively count
~25 unique additional individuals.
After applying a 20% overlap reduction across all groups, we arrive at
~1,350 unique beneficiaries in year one. This includes direct participants -
those receiving trees, seedlings, or training - and indirect beneficiaries,
such as neighbors sharing environmental benefits.
Docusign Envelope ID: CB1A7685-96B7-4FBD-80E0-8CF756D5E579
