D29. Please
describe one to three
key partnerships/
collaborations that
add the most value to
the success of the
proposed project.
(250 word limit)
Trees for the Triangle has established partnerships that will directly
contribute to the success of this project:
1. Orange County Government - W e are currently collaborating on two
initiatives:
-Shade for Schools: Planting 260 native trees and distributing 2,000
seedlings during educational seminars in schools across the county.
-Heat Island Reduction: Targeted tree planting in high-priority
neighborhoods, including Efland and Mebane, identified through county heat
mapping and social vulnerability data.
These collaborations provide a strong foundation for site selection,
community engagement, and resource alignment for the proposed project.
2. Chapel Hill Public Library – W e have engaged with Dale Morgan,
Environmental Educator, to plan an Arbor Day event featuring a public
educational workshop on tree benefits and a community tree planting. This
partnership expands our reach to urban residents and strengthens public
awareness of environmental equity issues.
D30. If this project is
not selected for
funding in this round,
what other funding
might be used to
support it within the
next 5 years?
Unknown (please describe)
Please describe
what other funding
might be used to
support it within the
next 5 years. (150
word limit)
If this project is not selected for funding in this round, TftT will actively seek
alternative funding sources to support its completion within the next 5
years. W hile we cannot guarantee a specific timeline for project completion
without this funding, we will explore various avenues including grants from
other environmental organizations, corporate sponsorships, and community
fundraising efforts. Our commitment to the project remains steadfast, and
we will persist in our efforts to secure the necessary resources to realize
our goals.
Criterion 5 - Local Economic Development This criterion has a maximum
score of 3 points (out of a total of 26 points).
D31. How many
Orange County
residents are
employed by your
organization?
W e have 3 employees and 0 are Orange County residents.
