She asked if there <br /> should be a provision for excused absences. She noted that previous versions of the policy <br /> included excused versus unexcused absences but did not define the distinction. <br /> Commissioner Bedford strongly opposed differentiating between excused vs. unexcused <br /> absences. She felt the reasons behind absences were irrelevant because members' presence is <br /> still needed to do the work. <br /> Others agreed, and the board decided against distinguishing excused and unexcused <br /> absences. <br /> 6.
