2 <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 3: HOUSING FOR ALL <br /> OBJECTIVE 2. Address need and any policy barriers to increase access to <br /> emergency shelter beds and other low-barrier housing including eviction diversion. <br /> Animal Services <br /> 2. Animal Services proposes to utilize $1,044 of donated funds from the Go Fund Me <br /> campaign for Heartworm Treatment to purchase medications and supplies needed to treat <br /> dogs diagnosed with heartworm disease. This budget amendment provides for the receipt <br /> and use of these funds consistent with the intent of the donations. <br /> 3. Animal Services has received notification of a grant in the amount of $79,552 awarded <br /> from American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). These funds will <br /> help cover cost of essential equipment, supplies and resources needed to operate the <br /> Animal Services clinic and to provide access to veterinary care. This budget amendment <br /> provides for receipt of these funds consistent with the intent of the donations.
