2 <br /> Clinic has recently received a $79,552 grant from the American Society for the Prevention of <br /> Cruelty to Animals. This grant will cover operational costs this year. Staff plans to propose an <br /> additional veterinary health care technician position for approval. Through a separate item on this <br /> same February 17, 2026 Business meeting agenda, staff is requesting approval of an updated <br /> fee schedule for various Clinic fees. <br /> Staff has attached information on Animal Services' history, and will provide a presentation at the <br /> meeting on the current services and programs, including the Community Animal Clinic, and staff's <br /> proposed future plans and goals. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with this presentation. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 2: HEALTHY COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 3. Provide social safety net programming and the resources needed for our <br /> most vulnerable community members (e.g., veterans, unhoused people, foster children, <br /> older adults, etc.). <br /> OBJECTIVE 7. Invest in services and programs that improve the health and quality of life <br /> of the community. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board receive the information on <br /> Animal Services' history, receive a presentation on current and proposed future services and an <br /> overview of the new Community Animal Clinic, and provide any comments and questions. <br />
