<br /> <br />About ICLEI- Local Governments for Sustainability <br />ICLEI- Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI) USA is the USA office of ICLEI, the <br />first and largest global network of more than 2,500 local governments across 100+ countries <br />devoted to solving the world’s most intractable sustainability challenges. ICLEI USA's standards, <br />tools, and programs credibly, transparently, and robustly reduce g reenhouse gas emissions, improve <br />lives and livelihoods and protect natural resources in the U.S. communities we ser ve. <br /> <br />Since 1995, ICLEI has ser ved as the global focal point for local and regional governments at the UN <br />Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Convention on Biological Diversity. ICLEI <br />established the first global platfor m for urban resilience and climate change adaptation, the Resilient <br />Cities Cong ress in 2010. From 2010 to 2019, the Congress ser ved as a space for discussion on urban <br />resilience across major global sustainability agendas: The transition from the Millennium <br />Development Goals (MDGs) to the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and its Sustainable <br />Development Goals (SDGs), the Paris Ag reement on Climate Change, the Sendai Framework for <br />Disaster Risk Reduction 2015- 2030, and the New Urban Agenda.
