ORANGE COUNTY <br />RECCOMMENDED OPERATIONAL BY-LAWS <br />RATIONALE FOR REVISIONS <br />Approval of By-Law Revisions: Transportation Advisory Board May 23, 2000 <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />Page 1: <br />Heading: Change name from Human Service Transportation Advisory Board <br />(Transportation Advisory Board) to reflect all services provided by a rural public transit <br />service. <br />Article I-Name: Remove Human Services from Transportation Advisory Board <br />Article II-Powers and Duties: #2. Remove Department on Aging as the lead agency to <br />reflect the services provided by a rural public transit service. <br />Article II-Powers and Duties: #6. Change the name of the Development plan to reflect <br />the NCDOT Community Transportation Improvement Plan (CTIP). <br />Page 2: <br />Article III-Composition/#1.Number and Qualifications: Reduce the size of the <br />Transportation Advisory Board from twenty-one to nineteen. The intent is to drop <br />agencies or members that have reduced interest in transportation over a period of years <br />and to include agencies that has an active involvement in transportation. Twelve <br />members will be the Director or Executive Director or designee appointed by the <br />following agencies: <br />(1) Chamber of Commerce or Economic Development Commission <br />(2) O.P.C. Mental Health Center <br />(3) Orange County Department on Aging <br />(4) Orange County Department of Social Services <br />(5) Orange County Health Department <br />(6) Orange Enterprises <br />(7) Town of Hillsborough <br />(8) Orange County Planning Department <br />(9) Employment Security Commission <br />(10)Orange County Recreation and Parks Department <br />(11)Emergency Medical Services <br />(12)Triangle Transit Authority (T.T.A.) <br />
