However,the increased <br /> efficiency of operators and distribution systems with the higher scruple of <br /> regulatory agencies means they are also generally maintained and <br /> monitored to a higher degree than private wells. <br /> • 24-hour drawdown tests performed on community wells are a great <br /> opportunity to monitor nearby wells for fracture interconnectivity. <br /> 2 <br /> 3 Slide #27 <br /> Commissioner Questions Cont. <br /> • Costs to drill? <br /> • This can vary widelyy,but the major expenses in drilling are the surface casing,well <br /> diameter,and dept} requirements. <br /> • wells with 100'or more surface casing become very expensive due to specialty <br /> equipment holding the borehole stable during casing installation and the expense of <br /> Larger piping materials for the casing. <br /> • Deeper wells are more expensive as greater depths frequently correlate with longer drill <br /> times.
