29 |
4.3
NC DOA was charged by the State Legislature with relocating 20 agencies from
the existing Administration Building at 116 W. Jones Street, Raleigh, to various
new locations throughout Downtown Raleigh ahead of the building’s demolition.
O’Brien Atkins led the discovery phase by conducting interviews, walkthroughs and
spatial observations of all departments in order to determine their space needs and
develop a programmatic summary with recommended square footage allocations
for the consolidations. O’Brien Atkins also supported the Department with move
management services, easing the anxiety of all stuff during the relocation process.
The design team worked with both the State Construction Office and leaders
at the NC DOA to determine priorities for departmental relocations and phased
renovations. Working as a team with Muter Construction - CT Wilson Construction,
the phasing and renovations were completed on schedule.
CLIENT REFERENCE
Robert Talley, PE
Assistant Director
State Construction
Office
(984) 236-5441
robert.talley@doa.
nc.gov
COMPLETION
2024
CONSTRUCTION COST
$13 million
SCOPE
20 agencies spread
throughout various
State-owned buildings
in the Downtown
Complex
NC DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION
CONSOLIDATIONS AND RENOVATIONS
+
Docusign Envelope ID: ED9774D9-AC0C-4CB2-997F-EA672B7B6C5D
