Orange County Health Department Improvements Smith Sinnett /2024008 <br />Hillsborough,NC Orange County Asset Management Services <br />POWER CONDUCTORS AND CABLES 26 05 19 - 1 <br />SECTION 26 05 19 <br /> POWER CONDUCTORS AND CABLES <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A Single conductor building wire. <br />B Wiring connectors. <br />C Electrical tape. <br />D Oxide inhibiting compound. <br />E Wire pulling lubricant. <br />1.02 REFERENCE STANDARDS <br />A ASTM B3 -Standard Specification for Soft or Annealed Copper Wire;2013 (Reapproved 2024). <br />B ASTM B8 -Standard Specification for Concentric-Lay-Stranded Copper Conductors,Hard,Medium-Hard, <br />or Soft;2023. <br />C ASTM B33 -Standard Specification for Tin-Coated Soft or Annealed Copper Wire for Electrical Purposes; <br />2010,with Editorial Revision (2020). <br />D ASTM B787/B787M -Standard Specification for 19 Wire Combination Unilay-Stranded Copper Conductors <br />for Subsequent Insulation;2004 (Reapproved 2020). <br />E NFPA 70 -National Electrical Code;National Fire Protection Association,Including All Applicable <br />Amendments and Supplements;2023. <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A Product Data: Provide manufacturer's standard catalog pages and data sheets for conductors and cables, <br />including detailed information on materials,construction,ratings,listings,and available sizes, <br />configurations,and stranding. <br />B Field Quality Control Test Reports. <br />C Manufacturer's Installation Instructions: Indicate application conditions and limitations of use stipulated by <br />product testing agency.Include instructions for storage,handling,protection,examination,preparation,and <br />installation of product. <br />D Project Record Documents: Record actual installed circuiting arrangements.Record actual routing of <br />exterior below grade conduit and associated hand holes or man holes.. <br />E Maintenance Materials: Furnish the following for Owner's use in maintenance of project. <br />1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A Comply with requirements of NFPA 70. <br />B Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in manufacturing the products specified in this section <br />with minimum five years documented experience. <br />C Product Listing Organization Qualifications: Third party agencies shall be amongst those accredited by the <br />NCBCC (North Carolina Building Code Council)to label Electrical and Mechanical Equipment. <br />1.05 DELIVERY,STORAGE,AND HANDLING <br />A Receive,inspect,handle,and store conductors and cables in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. <br />1.06 FIELD CONDITIONS <br />A Do not install or otherwise handle thermoplastic-insulated conductors at temperatures lower than 14 degrees <br />F,unless otherwise permitted by manufacturer's instructions.When installation below this temperature is <br />unavoidable,notify Architect and obtain direction before proceeding with work. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 CONDUCTOR AND CABLE APPLICATIONS <br />A Do not use conductors and cables for applications other than as permitted by NFPA 70 and product listing. <br />B Provide single conductor building wire installed in suitable raceway unless otherwise indicated,permitted,or <br />required. <br />C Nonmetallic-sheathed cable is not permitted. <br />D Service entrance cable is not permitted. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: 2D852F9B-A7CF-462A-9536-444A53AA848A
