Orange County Health Department Improvements Smith Sinnett /2024008 <br />Hillsborough,NC Orange County Asset Management Services <br />AIR DUCT ACCESSORIES 23 33 00 - 5 <br />b.Surface Shields <br />c.Trimaco <br />d.Ductmate ProGuard <br />e.Or Approved Equal <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSTALLATION <br />A Install accessories in accordance with manufacturer's instructions,NFPA 90A,and follow SMACNA (DCS). <br />See Section 23 31 00 for duct construction and pressure class. <br />B Provide a pre-manufactured support at each diffuser to turn the flex duct into a 90°elbow. <br />C Contractor shall identify balancing dampers above the ceiling by either spray painting them bright orange or <br />hanging an orange flag from the damper handle.If hanging a flag in a return air plenum,material shall <br />comply with fire and smoke spread ratings for plenum use. <br />D All balancing dampers shall be installed maximum 30"above the lay-in ceiling. <br />E Provide duct access doors for inspection and cleaning before and after filters,coils,fans,automatic dampers, <br />at fire dampers,combination fire and smoke dampers,and elsewhere as indicated.​​​​Provide minimum ​​12 by <br />12 inch​​size for hand access, size for shoulder access,and as indicated. Provide ​​8 by 8 inch​​for balancing <br />dampers only. Review locations prior to fabrication. <br />F Provide duct test holes where indicated and required for testing and balancing purposes. <br />G Provide balancing dampers at points on supply,return,and exhaust systems where branches are taken from <br />larger ducts as required for air balancing.Install minimum two duct widths from duct take-off. <br />H Provide balancing dampers on duct take-off to diffusers,grilles,and registers,regardless of whether dampers <br />are specified as part of the diffuser,grille,or register assembly. <br />END OF SECTION 23 33 00 <br />Docusign Envelope ID: 2D852F9B-A7CF-462A-9536-444A53AA848A
