<br />ELECTRICAL WORK
<br />PART 1 GENERAL
<br />1.01 DIVISION OF WORK
<br />A This Contractor shall be responsible for the final electrical and the entire control connections and wiring to
<br />all equipment installed as part of his contract.
<br />B Contractor shall review the electrical plans,where applicable,to establish points of connection and the extent
<br />of his electrical work to be provided in his contract.
<br />C Unless otherwise noted,this Contractor shall wire from his equipment to disconnect switches,junction
<br />boxes,or panelboard circuit breakers as provided by the Electrical Contractor or as required by the existing
<br />conditions.
<br />D All power and control wiring shall be in conduits. Refer to electrical specifications for conduit and conduit
<br />fittings.
<br />E All electrical work shall be performed by a licensed electrician.
<br />F All electrical work shall be in accordance with the State Building Code and all its supplements,the latest
<br />edition of the National Electrical Code and the electrical specifications.
<br />PART 2 PRODUCT
<br />2.01 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
<br />A All motor starters,disconnects,switches,relays,conduits,conductors,etc.that are required for a complete
<br />electrical power and/or control system shall conform to the requirements set forth by NEC.
<br />B Refer to the plans for the type,size and electrical characteristics of the starters,disconnects,switches,relays,
<br />conductor and conduits.
<br />C All conductors and conduits shall be sized as noted on the plans or As required per NEC.
<br />D All individual motor starters for mechanical equipment (i.e.,fans,pumps,etc.)shall be furnished and
<br />installed under Division 23.
<br />E All relays,actuators,timers,seven-day clocks,alternators,pressure,vacuum,float,flow,pneumatic-electric,
<br />and electric-pneumatic switches,aquastats,freezestats,line and low voltage thermostats,thermals,remote
<br />selector switches,remote push-button stations,emergency break-glass stations,interlocking,disconnect
<br />switches beyond termination point,and other appurtenances associated with equipment under Division 23
<br />shall be furnished,installed and wired under Division 23.
<br />PART 3 EXECUTION
<br />3.01 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
<br />A All motor starters,disconnects,and switches shall be installed on or as close to the equipment they are
<br />serving as possible,or where shown on the plans.
<br />B Electrical connection to equipment subject to vibration which develops objectionable noises shall be made
<br />from the conduit system with short lengths of flexible "Liquid-Tite"conduit.Connection to other equipment
<br />shall be made with rigid conduit.
<br />C Conduits shall be run in a concealed space such as wall cavities,ceiling cavities,etc.except in the
<br />mechanical rooms where conduit may be run exposed.
