Steel Rigid Furring Channels: ASTM C 645, hat shaped, depth of 7/8 inch, and minimum <br />thickness of base (uncoated) metal as follows: <br />a. Thickness: Min. 0.0179 inch, unless otherwise indicated. <br />b. Protective Coating: ASTM A 653, G 40 hot-dip galvanized coating. <br />C. Steel Framing for Walls and Partitions: <br />1. General: Provide steel framing members complying with the following requirements: <br />a. Protective Coating: ASTM A 653, G 40 hot-dip galvanized coating. <br />2. Steel Studs and Runners: ASTM C 645, with flange edges of studs bent back 90 degrees and <br />doubled over to form 3/16-inch- wide minimum lip (return), and complying with the following <br />requirements for minimum thickness of base (uncoated) metal and for depth: <br />a. Thickness: minimum 30 mil. <br />b. Depth: 3-5/8 inches, unless otherwise indicated. Provide 1-1/2", 2-1/2", 6", 8" and other <br />sizes indicated on drawings. <br />3. Steel Rigid Furring Channels: ASTM C 645, hat shaped, depth and minimum thickness of base <br />(uncoated) metal as follows: <br />a. Thickness: min. 0.0179 inch, unless otherwise indicated. <br />b. Depth: 7/8 inch. <br />4. Fasteners for Metal Framing: Provide fasteners of type, material, size, corrosion resistance, <br />holding power, and other properties required to fasten steel framing and furring members securely <br />to substrates involved; complying with the recommendations of gypsum board manufacturers for <br />applications indicated. <br />5. Delegated Design; Steel framing for Walls and Partitions: Systems to comply with performance <br />requirements and design criteria below: <br />a. Deflection: L/120 <br />b. Load: 7.5 psf. <br />c. Limiting Height: As indicated on drawings. <br />Design to include all framing combinations indicated or implied on the drawings. Include all <br />Composite wall and bracing conditions indicated. Design to be sealed by an engineer licensed to <br />practice in the project jurisdiction. <br />2.3 INTERIOR GYPSUM BOARD <br />A. General: Complying with ASTM C 36/C 36M or ASTM C 1396/C 1396M, as applicable to type of <br />gypsum board indicated and whichever is more stringent. Provide gypsum board of types indicated in <br />maximum lengths available that will minimize end-to-end butt joints in each area indicated to receive <br />gypsum board application. <br />1. Widths: Provide gypsum board in widths of 48 inches. <br />2. Available Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements, manufacturers offering <br />products that may be incorporated into the Work include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />3.
