Agency's Purpose/Mission Statement <br />The Refugee Support Center is a volunteer-based organization established to <br />facilitate the transition of local refugees to a new life in our community by <br />providing them with services, assisting them with access to resources, and <br />teaching them skills to promote self-sufficiency. <br />Brief description of your organization’s past achievements <br />Past achievements include successfully providing refugees with assistance <br />related to housing, employment, transportation, health care access, legal <br />counsel through our pro bono law clinic, immigration legal assistance for green <br />card, citizenship and family reunification applications, English/citizenship <br />instruction, after school tutoring, personal financial literacy, and food/clothing <br />access. In 2024 we distributed food, clothing, backpacks with school supplies, <br />diapers, and menstrual products. In a typical year, services are offered <br />individually and in small classes, but periodic community-wide workshops are <br />held on health education, immigration, and legal information.
