2 <br /> • Advise staff on other appropriate presentations of the needs assessment data <br /> throughout the County. <br /> DTCC has recommended that the membership of the Advisory Committee for Programming <br /> Needs Assessment shall be appointed jointly by the Orange County Commissioners and the <br /> DTCC Board of Trustees as follows: <br /> 1) Four (4) Public Schools Representatives - One from each high school (DTCC to appoint) <br /> 2) One (1) representative of the Hispanic population of the County (DTCC to appoint) <br /> 3) One (1) representative from UNC Chapel Hill (DTCC to appoint) <br /> 4) One (1) representative from Joint Orange/Chatham Community Action (DTCC to appoint) <br /> 6) Four(4) Town Mayors or their designees-one each from Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Mebane and <br /> Hillsborough (DTCC to appoint) . <br /> 6) Two (2) Chamber of Commerce representatives-one from each of the two Chambers of <br /> Commerce in the County (DTCC to appoint) <br /> 7) Two (2) representatives of the DTCC Board of Trustees (DTCC to appoint) <br /> 8) One (1) representative of a large employer within-the County (BOCC to appoint) . <br /> 9) Two (2) representatives of small business employers within the County (BOCC to <br /> appoint) <br /> 10)Two (2) at-large representatives of the County appointed by the BOCC (BOCC to <br /> appoint) <br /> 11)Two (2) County Commissioners (BOCC to appoint) <br /> 12)One (1) representative from the Department on Aging (BOCC to appoint) <br /> 13)One (1) representative from the Department of Social Services (BOCC to appoint) <br /> Staff to the Advisory Committee for Programming Needs Assessment will be: <br /> • DTCC's Vice President for Student Support Services <br /> • Orange County's Director of Purchasing and Central Services <br /> • Research Personnel employed and contracted by DTCC <br /> DTCC has requested that the County Commissioners take appropriate action to make <br /> appointments to the specific categories listed above for BOCC appointment. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with the appointment of the Site <br /> Selection Advisory Committee. However, the 2002-2012 Capital Investment Plan includes a <br /> total of$4 million, funded over two years to meet any cash match requirements associated with <br /> the satellite campus development. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board take the following action: <br /> • Appoint the Chair of the Aging Advisory Board and the Chair of the Social Services <br /> Board to the Advisory Committee for Programming Needs Assessment, with their <br /> respective vice-chairs serving as alternates; and <br /> • Direct the Clerk to advertise for the members indicated in categories eight (8), nine (9) <br /> and ten (10), above,citing specifically the duties of the Advisory Committee for <br /> Programming Needs Assessment as indicated above; and providing each potential <br /> appointee with a copy of the original task force report; and bring forward the results for <br /> Board consideration on August 20, 2002; and <br /> • Appoint the two (2) County Commissioners who will serve on the Advisory Committee <br /> for Programming Needs Assessment at an upcoming meeting. <br />
