<br />Attendant Booth Additions 32 11 23 - 1 <br />Orange County, North Carolina AUGUST 2025 <br />TRC PN: 670493 <br /> <br />SECTION 32 11 23 – AGGREGATE BASE COURSE <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> <br />1.1 DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br /> <br />A. The Contractor shall comply with each and every requirement of this <br />Section 32 11 23, “Aggregate Base Course”. To the extent any <br />requirement in Aggregate Base Course conflicts with any other provision <br />of this Contract, the provisions in Aggregate Base Course shall control. <br /> <br />B. Work under this section consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials, <br />and equipment for the construction of an aggregate base composed of <br />approved aggregate materials hauled to the parking/drive area, placed on <br />the prepared subgrade, compacted, and shaped to conform to the lines, <br />grade, depths, and typical cross-sections indicated on the plans. <br /> <br />C. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and <br />Supplementary Conditions and Division I Specification Sections, apply to <br />this Section. <br /> <br />1.2 RELATED WORK IN OTHER SECTIONS <br /> <br />A. Earthwork: Section 31 00 00 <br />B. Asphalt Pavement: Section 32 12 16 <br /> <br />1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> <br />The source and type of aggregate base course shall be approved by the <br />Engineer prior to placement. If requested, samples of the materials shall be <br />submitted to the Engineer for approval. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.1 Aggregate base course shall consist of crushed stone or crushed gravel and <br />shall conform to the requirements of Section 520 of the N.C. Department of <br />Transportation Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures. <br /> <br />2.2 Asphalt prime coat shall consist of 0.4 to 0.6 gallons per square yard of medium <br />curing asphalt.
