The Clerk's office has advertised and recruitment has also been done by <br />the Tax Assessor's office, with several applications received. The Orange County Special <br />Board of Equalization and Review shall consist of three regular members plus alternate <br />members, each to serve for a term in accordance with G.S. 105-322. <br />Applications have been received from the following people: Lee F. Butzin; William Crowther; <br />Pam Davis; Thomas Heffner; Timothy Kepley; Jerry L. Kruter; Reginald Morgan; Jane L. <br />Sparks; and Ruby Tilley. Tom Heffner has specifically requested appointment as an alternate <br />this year, not as a regular member. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Each member will be paid $75.00 for each meeting they attend, and <br />the chair will be paid $100.00 for each meeting attended. The funds are included in the Tax <br />Assessor's budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Appoint three regular members, and the remaining applicants as <br />alternate members, on the Special Board of Equalization and Review, all with terms ending with <br />the appointment of a new Special Board of Equalization and Review; and appoint one regular <br />member to be the Chair of the Special Board of Equalization and Review. <br />
