Orange County Broadband Task Force —Appointments Discussion <br /> 3 The Board discussed and approved appointments to the Orange County Broadband Task Force. <br /> 4 BACKGROUND: At the October 7, 2025 Business Meeting, the Board of County Commissioners <br /> 5 (BOCC) amended the charge of the Orange County Broadband Task Force (the Task Force), <br /> 6 appointed two (2) Commissioners, and re-appointed two (2) Orange County Resident - At-Large <br /> 7 members. The BOCC also directed the Clerk to advertise the remaining three (3) Orange County <br /> 8 Resident -At-Large positions, with an application deadline of October 26, 2025. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 The updated charge of the Task Force is: <br /> 11 1. To discuss broadband solutions that will improve the quality of high-speed internet <br /> 12 services to Orange County residents, and <br /> 13 2. To recommend a plan to the Board of Orange County Commissioners to expand reliable <br /> 14 high-speed internet services to all County residents and businesses. <br /> 15 3. To update and track broadband coverage needs as State and Federal program awards <br /> 16 are made. <br /> 17 4. She reemphasized an email she sent earlier this week, <br /> 41 explaining that the content of one applicant's application was erroneously imported into another <br /> 42 applicant's application, resulting in them having the same answers. She reminded the Board that <br /> 43 she sent them the correct application for Patrick Murphy and a copy is also at their seats. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Vice-Chair Hamilton nominated Andrew Leeb for appointment. <br /> 46 <br />
