Year-to- Date Budget Kirk Vaughn , ( 919 ) 245 -2153 Summary PURPOSE : To approve budget , grant , and capital project ordinance amendments for Fiscal Year 2025 -26 . Criminal Justice Resources Department 1 . The Criminal Justice Resources Department has received $ 2 , 100 in donations in public donation to assist with client commissary needs for use in FY 2025 -26 . This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds in the General Fund . ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN : This item supports : • GOAL 2 : HEALTHY COMMUNITY OBJECTIVE 1 . Improve harm reduction , prevention , and support services for adults and children experiencing behavioral health issues , substance use disorder, and intellectual or developmental disability . OBJECTIVE 4 . Reduce impacts and barriers for justice- involved children and adults through deflection , diversion , therapeutic interventions , and re-entry support , including housing . Housing 2 . Longtime Homeowners Assistance — The Town of Chapel Hill has contracted with the County ' s Housing Department to supplement the Longtime Homeowners Assistance Program specifically for the Town ' s residents . This budget amendment accounts for the Town providing an additional $ 13 , 000 to offset the tax bills of eligible residents in the town . ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN : This item supports : • GOAL 2 : HOUSING FOR ALL OBJECTIVE 2 . Address need and any policy barriers to increase access to emergency shelter beds and other low- barrier housing including eviction diversion .
