The Health Department was awarded a grant of $33,000 from Blue Cross Blue Shield of <br /> North Carolina to purchase aspirin for participants in the Thriving Hearts program to reduce <br /> the incidence of hypertensive disorder of pregnancy (HDP). The aspirin will be given to <br /> those participants with a risk of preeclampsia and will be given as part of a Thriving Hearts <br /> care kit.
