Year-to-Date Budget Kirk Vaughn, (919) 245-2153 <br /> Summary <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for Fiscal Year <br /> 2025-26. <br /> Criminal Justice Resources Department <br /> 1. The Criminal Justice Resources Department has received $2,100 in donations in public <br /> donation to assist with client commissary needs for use in FY 2025-26. This budget <br /> amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds in the General Fund. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 2: HEALTHY COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 1. Improve harm reduction, prevention, and support services for adults <br /> and children experiencing behavioral health issues, substance use disorder, and <br /> intellectual or developmental disability. <br /> OBJECTIVE 4. Reduce impacts and barriers for justice-involved children and adults <br /> through deflection, diversion, therapeutic interventions, and re-entry support, including <br /> housing. <br /> Housing <br /> 2. Longtime Homeowners Assistance — The Town of Chapel Hill has contracted with the <br /> County's Housing Department to supplement the Longtime Homeowners Assistance <br /> Program specifically for the Town's residents. This budget amendment accounts for the <br /> Town providing an additional $13,000 to offset the tax bills of eligible residents in the town. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 2: HOUSING FOR ALL <br /> OBJECTIVE 2. Address need and any policy barriers to increase access to emergency <br /> shelter beds and other low-barrier housing including eviction diversion. <br />
