29
1 Slide #22
Proposed Zoning R- CD
•
Rothschild
2
3 Beth Trahos commended Orange County staff for their assistance throughout this process.
4 She described the 49 single-family homes on 80 acres adjacent to Hillsborough, noting the
5 diverse surrounding land uses, including Eno River Academy, Pathways Elementary, Mars Hill
6 Baptist Church, and various businesses. There are also several individual lots and small
7 residential neighborhoods, many of which are already on Town of Hillsborough water. She
8 acknowledged that in addition to the concept plan, the proposal includes 14 conditions developed
9 with input from staff, neighbors, and the Planning Board. The input from various stakeholders has
10 meant there have been substantive changes to the proposal throughout this process. She said
11 one of the changes was a condition allowing limited trail access for Eno River Academy students,
12 faculty, and the cross-country team. She emphasized her team has been responsive to concerns
13 throughout the process in addressing concerns that were heard.
14
15
