(JBI) signed <br /> agreement in June, 2000 to secure appropriate Federal Financial Assistance in recovering <br /> additional federal dollars that are due to the County for reimbursement of some of the costs of <br /> incarcerating criminals who have committed serious crimes. <br /> Based on JBI's work, the County will receive an additional $114,058 from the U.S. Department <br /> of Justice. The County will compensate JBI twenty-two percent (22%) as a direct result of the <br /> work JBI completed. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The County would receive $114,058 from the U.S. Department of <br /> Justice. The County would compensate JBI 22% of this amount, $25,093, leaving a balance of <br /> $88,965 for Orange County. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board of Commissioners accept <br /> the award from SCAAP in the amount of$114,058 for Orange County. <br />
