(k) Public Road Access <br /> Staff Comment: Project provides for four access points and meets other access <br /> regulations. <br /> (1) Maintenance of Improvements <br /> Staff Comment: The applicant has provided as part of the Resource Management Plan, <br /> contained in Attachment 2 — Site Plan Sheet L5.00. <br /> (m)Additional Standards <br /> i. For non-charter public schools, the minimum lot size shall be, as required by the <br /> School Construction Standards adopted from time to time by the Board of <br /> County Commissioners, the Orange County Board of Education and the Chapel <br /> Hill-Carrboro Board of Education. <br /> Staff Comment: Based on current school operations, Staff believes the site is of <br /> sufficient size to accommodate the proposed project based on the maximum <br /> number of anticipated students as detailed by the applicant. <br /> ii. For all schools, the lot size shall be adequate to accommodate all activities. The <br /> proposed methods to handle the maximum number of participants and patrons <br /> for any single event shall be provided while also adhering to safe vehicular and <br /> pedestrian circulation. <br /> Staff Comment: Based on current school operations, Staff believes the site is <br /> of sufficient size to accommodate the proposed project based on the maximum <br /> number of anticipated students as detailed by the applicant. <br /> iii. Negative visual impacts shall be minimized along any major roadway. Negative <br /> visual impacts include, but are not limited to, loading/unloading areas, delivery <br /> areas, air handling units (roof top and other), parking areas for machinery, and <br /> storage buildings. Appropriate screening methods shall be used to enhance the <br /> aesthetic value of a project. <br /> Staff Comment: Staff is satisfied that the applicant can adhere to this <br /> requirement. <br /> iv. Transportation improvements as deemed necessary by the Traffic Impact Study. <br /> Staff Comment: The Traffic Impact Analysis Validation letter contained in <br /> Attachment 1 noted no additional transportation improvements are expected and <br /> a TIA addendum for the SUP modification is not expected or needed. The <br /> current project does not propose any major changes to access and internal <br /> circulation. As a result, no NCDOT action is required. <br /> V. There shall be a minimum of two access points to the site. <br /> Staff Comment: The site plan identifies four access points on New Jericho <br /> Road for the main school campus. <br /> 14 <br />
