.3-2 <br />The following departmental reports were submitted: Medical Examinerls Report <br />Veteran Service Officers Report, Clerk of Court's Report. <br />Commissioner Ray brought to the attention of the Board a request which had <br />previously been made by Wiley B. Perry of Rt. 2, Mebane, N. C., pertaining to the <br />removal of the load limit on a portion of the highway from N. C. 70 south to 1-85 <br />and known locally as the Buckhorn Road. The length of the road is approximately .3 of <br />a mile. The Clerk was requested to write the State Highway Commission and request <br />that said load limit be removed and refer the Highway Commission to previous action <br />taken by the Board of Commissioner on this request. <br />Commissioner Ray brought to the attention of the Board that Lacy Gibson, <br />Supervisor for the Farmers Home Administration, had proposed that Orange County make <br />application for a water survey through the Farmers Home Administration. Commissioner <br />Ray stated that this survey could be made through the U. S. Department of Agriculture <br />at no cost to the County. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Smith, and unanimously <br />adopted, Chairman Bennett was authorized to sign the necessary application in order <br />that Orange County might request a water survey through the facilities of the U. S. <br />Department of Agriclture. <br />The following jury list were drawn: <br />March 21 Civil Term - 60 names <br />March 28 Civil Term - 60 names <br />April 25 Criminiel Term - 84.n8mes <br />The County Administrator presented bids received from Ray Motor Company end <br />Yates Motor Company on an automobile which is to be purchased for his department. <br />the bids were as follows: <br />Yates Motor Co. - 1966 Fury Plymouth - $2700.00 <br />Ray Motor Co. - 1966 County Sedan - $2747.01 <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Ray, the County <br />Administrator was, authorized to purchased the 1966 Fury Plymouth from Yates Motor <br />Ccmpsny. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was <br />adjourned to meet again on Wednesday, February 9th at ten o'clock a.m. in the <br />Agricultural Building in Hillaborough, N. Bennett <br />Chairman <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session on Wednesday, <br />February 9, 1965, at ten o'clock a.m. at the Agricultural Building in Hillsborough, <br />N. C. <br />Members present: Chairman Harvey D. Bennett, Commissioners William C. Ray <br />Carl M. Smith and Henry Walker. <br />Members absent: Commissioner Gordon B. Cleveland <br />The purpose of this meeting was to attend the annual District Seven meeting <br />of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners. A program of current <br />interest items to County Commissioners was present by John Morrisey, General <br />Counsel of the Commissioner Association. In attendance at the meeting were <br />Commissioners from Rockingham, Guilford, Alamance and Caswell Counties along with <br />local County Department Officials. <br />Harvey D.
