1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: November 18, 2025 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-i <br /> SUBJECT: Purchase of Vehicles for Multiple Departments <br /> DEPARTMENT: Fleet Services <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Quotes Robert Williams, 919-918-4904 <br /> PURPOSE: To approve and authorize Orange County Fleet Services Department to purchase <br /> ten (10) vehicles: <br /> • Two (2) Ford E Transit 305 EV Vans <br /> • One (1) Ford Transit Passenger Van <br /> • Three (3) Ford Mustang MachE EV <br /> • Two (2) Ford Maverick XL Hybrid <br /> • One (1) Chev Silverado 2500 <br /> • One (1) Chev Silverado 1500 EV <br /> BACKGROUND: The purchase of new vehicles to replace the aging units currently in service <br /> across multiple departments is necessary to maintain operational efficiency, reduce maintenance <br /> costs and ensure reliability of departmental transportation. <br /> The purchase of ten (10) vehicles is being made through the Statewide Term Contract 2510A- <br /> Fleet Vehicles, established by the North Carolina Department of Administration and North <br /> Carolina Sheriffs Association, which qualifies as an exemption to the competitive bidding <br /> requirements. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The total financial impact for the purchase of all ten (10) vehicles as <br /> approved in the FY 2025-26 Capital Investment Plan (CIP) is $472,435 excluding sales tax. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 1: ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND CLIMATE ACTION <br /> OBJECTIVE 2. Invest in our infrastructure to reduce the environmental impact of the <br /> County fleet/facilities and improve safety. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board authorize the Fleet Services <br /> Department to purchase 10 vehicles: <br /> • Two (2) Ford E Transit 305 EV Vans <br /> • One (1) Ford Transit Passenger Van <br /> • Three (3) Ford Mustang MachE EV <br /> • Two (2) Ford Maverick XL Hybrid <br /> • One (1) Chev Silverado 2500 <br /> • One (1) Chev Silverado 1500 EV <br />
