(All other staff members will be identified <br /> 17 appropriately below) <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Chair Bedford called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All commissioners were present, <br /> 20 except Commissioner Portie-Ascott. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> 23 Chair Bedford read the public charge. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 2. Public Comments (Limited to One Hour) <br /> 26 a. Matters not on the Printed Agenda <br /> 27 There were no comments. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 b. Matters on the Printed Agenda <br /> 30 (These matters will be considered when the Board addresses that item on the agenda below.) <br /> 31 <br /> 32 3. Announcements, Petitions and Comments by Board Members <br /> 33 Chair Bedford announced that former commissioner Mark Marcopolos passed away over <br /> 34 the weekend. She highlighted some of his accomplishments while he was a commissioner and <br /> 35 expressed sympathy to his family. She said that there will be a celebration at the Efland <br /> 36 Community Center on Thursday for a new renovated space. She said that at the next meeting <br /> 37 commissioners will decide on who will serve on the retreat committee. <br /> 38 Commissioner Fowler sent her condolences to the family of Mark Marcopolos. She said <br /> 39 she met with the IDEAL Communities Collaborative, which is planning a state legislature tour and <br /> 40 visit to Grosvenor Gardens, a model of inclusive housing in Raleigh. She said they will have a <br /> 41 tour and then discussion on policy, including low-income housing tax credits to help with housing <br /> 42 for those with IDD. <br /> 43 Vice-Chair Hamilton said she attended the Burlington Graham Metropolitan Planning <br /> 44 Organization Transportation Advisory Committee meeting and there was a report on the <br /> 45 prioritization 8 projects. She said the MPO will submit bus rapid transit projects for routes between <br /> 46 Carrboro and Mebane and Mebane and Winston-Salem to see how the state will score the <br /> 47 projects and the possibility for funding. <br /> 48 Commissioner Greene said she was sorry for the passing of Mark Marcopolos. She said <br /> 49 she attended the Visitors Bureau meeting where they received a presentation from the president <br /> 50 of PHE in Hillsborough on their efforts to increase market share and their work as a good <br /> 51 corporate citizen. <br />
