DRAFT

Beth Bronson: ****for everybody, yes, and I'm glad that you were provided a copy as well to look over. That is
great. I will say that what you were speaking about earlier was a willingness to, you know, not
even petition but to write—

Josh Reinke: That's pretty much what it is. It's putting together—

Beth Bronson: —a petition to the DOT.

Josh Reinke: —a letter saying we're requesting for these reasons. And I've done this a number of times,
primarily for schools. Schools are an easier one, but I think crashes are another one where you
could say here's a concern of ours. We present it to DOT. They review it in different groups,
division and higher, and then they say—

Beth Bronson: Absolutely.

Josh Reinke: —we agree with the logic behind why that is, and we will or we will not,for whatever reasons. And
that's why I'm happy to write the letter. I think the team is supportive of that. I just can't promise
the outcome of that.

Beth Bronson: Certainly.

Josh Reinke: Yeah.

Beth Bronson: Same as any other negotiation or any other condition that we don't have control over.

Josh Reinke: Right.

Beth Bronson: But I think it's the intention there, right, because a lot of the comments that we've heard from the
surrounding residents and a lot of the concerns that the planning board members have do
surround not necessarily the impact from this project.

Josh Reinke: Right, it's an existing—

Beth Bronson: I mean, obviously, the new project—

Josh Reinke: —it's an existing issue.

Beth Bronson: —it's an existing capacity.

Josh Reinke: Correct.

Beth Bronson: Exactly. And so and the same is in good faith, I think, that a letter to the DOT and to the West
Orange MPO where you,you know, and you make Hillsborough and the county aware that this is
what you are petitioning for them. Being able to cite the many factors that not even necessarily
that are anecdotal but that are factual, right, is that the lower number versus the high, the upper
limit that you might be able to you have for your traffic study. And while a TIA is not required, it
would absolutely behoove DOT to review that failing intersection and/or the surrounding areas
because of the blind spots, because of the speed zones, and the difference of 45 and 55 is
significant.

Josh Reinke: Yeah.
