She asked about
the nature of True North's "key stakeholders" consultation and whether or not it would include
conversations with partners.
Tom Altieri explained that this likely refers to stakeholders within Orange County itself,
such as the Planning Board, internal staff, and perhaps various departments that would be
impacted by the decision-making process, but there is potentially additional opportunity there to
include partners.
Commissioner Greene said she has significant experience with Alana Keegan and
believes she is well-qualified. She added that Central Pines wants to be a partner, and their
services should be taken advantage of.
Commissioner Portie-Ascott said she likes Central Pines because of the price but wants
to understand the additional services it looks like True North is offering. She asked Tom Altieri to
explain what the tools might be that are mentioned under the November 21 Retreat Facilitation
section.
Tom Altieri said those tools are to be determined. He said both facilitators said they would
attend the Board's retreat on November 111" and would have ideas afterward on what tools would
be helpful for facilitation at the next retreat.
Chair Bedford said the other option is not to have a facilitator.
Vice-Chair Hamilton said she is not keen on having a facilitator but prefers Alana Keegan
of the two options because she thinks individual meetings with the commissioners are important.
She said she is concerned about this process because commissioners have not had a chance to
talk at a higher level and then delve in. She said she isn't interested in someone coming in and
controlling that process. She added that she is not concerned with bringing in other partners at
this point for discussion.
Commissioner Portie-Ascott asked if facilitation must be done by someone outside of the
county.
