As a result, it
takes a long time to get water from the water treatment plant to the very edges of the service area.
He said the town is pulling everything closer to the water plant to reduce the distance from the
water plant and the most distant customers, consistent with the town's desire to serve the best,
highest quality water possible, given the amount of capacity that's remaining.
Commissioner Carter asked if there are currently people being served in the areas the
town is pulling back from.
Bryant Green said yes, and some schools are outside of the boundaries as well.
Commissioner Fowler asked if the town would continue to serve the schools regardless.
Bryant Green said yes. He explained the town would not extend new water and sewer
mains past those points, but those currently receiving service will still receive service.
