She <br /> 10 noted the difficulty in envisioning specific improvements for future events but appreciated the <br /> 11 items they presented. She raised a larger conversation about river hazard mitigation planning and <br /> 12 addressing risk exposure at the source by removing hazards and relocating people from <br /> 13 inherently at-risk structures, specifically mentioning flood-prone properties that generated many <br /> 14 swift water rescue calls. She said she hopes the Board can come back to this discussion later. <br /> 15 Chief Potter said there are several mitigation strategies identified in the Eno-Haw Hazard <br /> 16 Mitigation Plan that will be incorporated into the Emergency Operations Plan. <br /> 17 Vice-Chair Hamilton added her thanks and admiration.
