Tax Assessment Work Group—Appointments Discussion <br /> 20 The Board discussed and approved appointments to the Community Representative positions on <br /> 21 the Tax Assessment Work Group. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 BACKGROUND: At the September 16, 2025 Business Meeting, the Board of County <br /> 24 Commissioners officially established and approved the composition and charge for the Tax <br /> 25 Assessment Work Group (the Work Group), and appointed Commissioners Phyllis Portie-Ascott, <br /> 26 Marilyn Carter, and Amy Fowler to serve. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 The charge of the Work Group is to evaluate the policies, processes, and procedures used by the <br /> 29 Orange County Tax Office to assess property values and communicate to the public. The Work <br /> 30 Group will provide feedback and input to a consultant retained by the County to make <br /> 31 recommendations on changes and enhancements to the tax assessment process that will <br /> 32 improve and ensure the accuracy and fairness of property assessments. <br /> 33 <br /> 34 The full composition of the Work Group includes: <br /> 35 <br /> 36 • Three Commissioners <br /> 37 • County Manager <br /> 38 0 Tax Administrator <br /> 39 • Budget Director <br /> 40 • Director of Civil Rights and Civic Life <br /> 41 • Community Relations Director <br /> 42 .
