In one <br />of the Carrboro seats, Ms. Josephine Leak Harris, whose second term expired in June, 2001, <br />continues to serve until a replacement is appointed. <br />The membership sub-committee met last summer to review the Interest List and made one <br />recommendation to appoint Mr. William T. Hendrickson to an At-Large Position. <br />The committee is further reviewing the Interest List for other recommendations, as well as <br />having contacted the Town Clerks of Carrboro, Chapel Hill and Hillsborough requesting <br />nominations for their positions. Further contact will be made with the Town Clerks to encourage <br />participation on the HRC by those Towns. Also, the Orange County Clerk's office will continue <br />to advertise those positions. <br />One nomination recently came forth from the Carrboro Board of Aldermen to appoint Mr. <br />Damon Seils, whose application and Resolution to Recommend is attached. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider appointing Mr. William T. Hendrickson to the Human <br />Relations Commission to an At-Large position for a full term to expire June 30, 2006; <br />furthermore, consider appointing Mr. Damon Seils to the Carrboro position to an unexpired term <br />to expire June 30, 2004. <br />
