RES-2025-054 <br />RESOLUTION OF APPROVAL <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AMENDING CHAPTER 28 OF THE ORANGE COUNTY CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES <br /> <br /> <br />Be it Resolved and Ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Orange County, North Carolina: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined a change in state law related to law <br />enforcement officers impacts the Personnel Ordinance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined an amendment is necessary to the <br />retirement benefits options available to local government law enforcement officers. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, that the Code of Ordinances, Orange County, North <br />Carolina, Chapter 28, is hereby amended by amending section §28-28, which amended section <br />reads as shown in the attached revised Personnel Ordinance. <br /> <br />This Amendment shall become effective upon adoption. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Orange County Board of Commissioners this 21st day of October 2025. <br /> <br /> <br />By: Attest: <br /> <br /> <br />_______________________________ _________________________________ <br />Jamezetta Bedford, Chair Laura Jensen, Clerk to the Board <br />Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> [SEAL] <br />13
