3 <br /> this past summer. This budget amendment recognizes this contribution and appropriates <br /> $10,000 within the Article 46 Fund, outside the General Fund. <br /> 5. The Orange County Arts Commission (OCAC) State Arts Grant Funds award has <br /> increased by $1,547. Funds are to be used to support OCAC programming and granted to <br /> Grassroots applicants, who are 501(c)(3) arts organizations, based on criteria approved by <br /> the State. These funds are authorized in the Visitors Bureau Fund, outside of the General <br /> Fund <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 2: HEALTHY COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 7. Invest in services and programs that improve the health and quality of <br /> life of the community (e.g., recreation and public open spaces, arts, etc.) <br /> • GOAL 6: DIVERSE AND VIBRANT ECONOMY <br /> OBJECTIVE 1. Provide family-oriented and inclusive programming or other cultural <br /> events for residents and visitors. <br /> County Manager— Sustainability and Asset Management Services <br /> 6. The County has received an Energy Efficiency Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) from <br /> the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) State Energy Office in the <br /> amount of $191,051 to install rooftop solar at the Cedar Grove Community Center. <br /> Through this project, the County aims to showcase the practical benefits of solar power, <br /> including cost savings, energy efficiency, and environmental impact. Community-wide <br /> outreach efforts will highlight available rebates and tax credits that make solar adoption <br /> more affordable, encouraging broader participation.
