13 <br /> RES-2025-054 <br /> RESOLUTION OF APPROVAL <br /> A RESOLUTION AMENDING CHAPTER 28 OF THE ORANGE COUNTY CODE <br /> OF ORDINANCES <br /> Be it Resolved and Ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Orange County, North Carolina: <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined a change in state law related to law <br /> enforcement officers impacts the Personnel Ordinance; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has determined an amendment is necessary to the <br /> retirement benefits options available to local government law enforcement officers. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, that the Code of Ordinances, Orange County, North <br /> Carolina, Chapter 28, is hereby amended by amending section §28-28, which amended section <br /> reads as shown in the attached revised Personnel Ordinance. <br /> This Amendment shall become effective upon adoption. <br /> Adopted by the Orange County Board of Commissioners this 21St day of October 2025. <br /> By: Attest: <br /> Jamezetta Bedford, Chair Laura Jensen, Clerk to the Board <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> [SEAL] <br />
