This autonomy allows for agile and responsive execution of <br /> small-scale infrastructure improvements while maintaining alignment with broader transportation <br /> goals. <br /> To ensure transparency, accountability, and successful delivery of each project, the PMP serves <br /> as a strategic tool. It offers structured oversight and establishes clear expectations for staff. <br /> Whether the project involves modest enhancements like mid-block crosswalks and signage <br /> installations, or more complex work such as resurfacing with widened shoulders or minor <br /> safety/mobility upgrades, the following framework governs the process for executing Non-STIP <br /> projects effectively. <br /> Step-by-Step Workflow for Non-STIP Projects <br /> 1. Request Intake <br /> Collect infrastructure improvement requests from a variety of sources including the <br /> Transportation Advisory Subcommittee (TAS), OUTBoard members, and the public. <br /> 2. Internal Analysis <br /> Conduct a comprehensive internal assessment to evaluate the request's feasibility and <br /> determine the most efficient administrative pathway for implementation. <br /> 3. Coordination with NCDOT <br /> Engage with NCDOT to discuss project scope, funding mechanisms, and scheduling <br /> considerations to align with state-level processes and timelines. <br /> 4.
