He described how the county requested a proposal from the School <br /> of Government for facilitation services. <br /> Vice-Chair Hamilton said there are planners with Central Pines Regional Council who <br /> might be interested. <br /> Cy Stober said they would ask. <br /> Commissioner Portie-Ascott asked when the Board would get answers to some of the <br /> questions they posed highlighted in blue in the agenda materials. <br /> Cy Stober said that information will be presented over the next 3 months. <br /> Commissioner Portie-Ascott said she was specifically interested in input from <br /> developers. <br /> Cy Stober said they've met with the Chamber of Commerce and the Home Builders <br /> Association. He said that staff would like the Board to have all the fundamentals of <br /> development down before they meet with developers. He said they will present all that material <br /> to the Board between now and December. He said they will schedule a conversation with the <br /> Chamber and Home Builders Association in early 2026. <br /> 7. Reports <br /> a. 2024 Climate Action Plan Annual Report <br /> The Board received a report on the first year of implementation of the Orange County Climate <br /> Action Plan, highlighting progress made toward the County's greenhouse gas reduction and <br /> climate resilience goals. <br /> BACKGROUND: In November 2023, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Orange <br /> County's first comprehensive Climate Action Plan, committing to reduce greenhouse gas <br /> emissions 50% by 2030 and 100% by 2050. The plan outlines 70 strategies across five (5) key <br /> focus areas: Transportation, Built Environment & Energy, Resource Conservation, Green <br /> Community, and Resilient Community. <br /> This annual report highlights significant accomplishments during the first year of <br /> implementation.
