I will offer TEN, 5 <br />hour workshops in 7 months. Each workshop will offer 3 spots. The <br />workshops will take place in my studio space, located in downtown <br />Carrboro, above This & That Gift Gallery. <br />The funds will cover all materials for the workshops as well as my time to <br />instruct. W orkshops will vary with a focus on intuitive/expressive painting, <br />painting with collage and multimedia (pencils, color pencils, collage and <br />acrylic). Sample workshop schedule attached as sample (would be adjusted <br />to 5 hour session). <br />W orkshops are open to ANY adult in the community, on a first come, first <br />serve basis. Instructor is fluent in Spanish. <br />Community Impact These workshops will be free and open to the public. Any community <br />member can sign up regardless of their race, ethnicity, political or religious <br />beliefs. Potentially 30 community members will be able to take advantage <br />of these workshops. Previous art/painting experience is NOT required. <br />Artist Experience I teach art & design at my studio, and have taught in higher education for <br />16 years. I serve as Adjunct Professor at North Carolina Central University <br />and North Carolina State University. I have taught several workshops <br />including Expressive/Intuitive Painting, Collage, Multi-Media Painting, <br />Illustration Techniques, Book Illustration. In the 16 years of teaching in <br />higher education, only one student failed for lack of attendance.
