<br />ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date:October 7, 2025 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No.8-k <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Approval of a Two-Year Contract with Granicus, LLC for the Visitors Bureau <br />Website <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT: Economic Development/Visitors <br />Bureau <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />2025-2027 Contract Between Granicus <br />and the Visitors Bureau for <br />VisitChapelHill.org <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Laurie Paolicelli, 919-245-4322 <br /> <br />PURPOSE: To approve a two-year contract with Granicus, LLC, the web provider for <br />VisitChapelHill.org for the Orange County Visitors Bureau. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Granicus, LLC has acquired Simpleview, the current web provider for the <br />Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau. Simpleview – and now Granicus – has long been <br />recognized as a leading provider of websites and digital solutions for destination marketing <br />organizations, including Orange County’s. As a result of the acquisition by Granicus, the Visitors <br />Bureau’s website services are transitioning to a new contract under Granicus. The contract has <br />been thoroughly reviewed and approved by the Finance and Administrative Services Department. <br />Approval ensures the continued delivery of online hosting and content management services <br />designed to meet the needs of visitors seeking information about Orange County’s tourism <br />offerings. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The proposed contract is for two years from July 1, 2025 through June 30, <br />2027, and includes a 3% increase each year, for a two-year total cost of $102,761.37. The two- <br />year percentage increases are consistent with the U.S. media/advertisement rate of inflation. <br /> 2025-2026: $50,621.36 <br /> 2026-2027: $52,140.01 <br /> <br />ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> GOAL 6: DIVERSE AND VIBRANT ECONOMY <br />OBJECTIVE 5. Increase access to and awareness of resources and assistance available <br />to residents and businesses. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the proposed <br />agreement and authorize the Manager to sign the contract and approve and execute any <br />amendments or modifications within the budgeted amount. <br />1
