The Board directed Tara May to recruit additional applicants. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Orange Unified Transportation Board – Appointments Discussion 9 <br />The Board discussed appointments to the Orange Unified Transportation Board. 10 <br /> 11 <br />BACKGROUND: The Orange Unified Transportation Board (OUTBoard) advises the Board of 12 <br />County Commissioners and provides information and comments on major transportation issues. 13 <br />Specifically, the OUTBoard provides the Board of County Commissioners with recommendations 14 <br />regarding the overall planning and programming of transportation improvements in the County, 15 <br />including identification and prioritization of the County's roadway and transit needs along with 16 <br />associated costs and specific sources of funding; provision of recommendations to the Board 17 <br />regarding Federal and State legislation affecting transportation in Orange County; and exploration 18 <br />and suggestion of recommendations on innovative techniques and methods to improve the 19 <br />efficiency and capacity of existing and future transportation systems. 20 <br /> 21 <br />The Board of County Commissioners appoints all twelve (12) members, with representation from 22 <br />each of the County’s townships to the extent possible.
